NASA World Wind Plugin for active fire/hotspot detections

FIRMS provides a plugin for NASA World Wind to display Collection 5 active fire/hotspot detections for the last 48 hours for most of the world.

NASA World Wind can be downloaded from:

http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/download.html

Instructions:

Extract the zip file and copy the firms-wms XML document and the fires.png file to:
($installation directory)\Config\Earth

For example, in Windows, the default path set for NASA World Wind Version 1.4 is:
C:\Program Files\NASA\World Wind 1.4\Config\Earth

Open NASA World Wind and click on the "FIRMS Hotspots - Past 48 Hours" icon in the tool bar to see the active fire/hotspot detections.
