About the low bandwidth version

The low bandwidth version of Web Fire Mapper is aimed at users with slow internet access who want to know whether fires have occured in their area of interest during the last 48 hours. To minimize download time this version of Web Fire Mapper has limited functionalities and layers compared to the full version of Web Fire Mapper. These limitations include:

• Only fires from the last 48 hours are displayed
• No date query
• Limited layers
• The identify tool only works on the active fires
• Buffer/Selection/Measure tools are not available
• There is no overview map

If you are a dial-up/low bandwidth user and if you find this service useful, please let us know, depending upon user response we would try and add in more functionality/layers to this version.
